Ticket sales END on Monday, May 20th!!!

The Senior Boat Party is a special Graduation Night event for 2019 W-L graduates (only). It serves two purposes: 1) it gives W-L Seniors a super high school send-off and a last big hurrah with all their classmates; and 2) it gives parents peace of mind knowing that our Seniors are spending graduation night (from 10:45 PM to 3:30 AM) in a safe, chaperoned, alcohol-free environment. This activity has been a longstanding, successful tradition at Washington-Lee.This year’s party will be held on the Odyssey! It docks at the DC Wharf and cruises up and down the Potomac. The party is an exciting evening full of fun that will include a DJ, dancing, games, photo booth, raffles and refreshments galore.

Ticket Delivery: Student names will be on the Boat Party guest list on the night of the event. Students check in at W-L at 10:45 PM, are transported to and from the dock by school bus, departing W-L at about 11:15 PM and returning about 3:30 AM.

Volunteers and Baked Goods Needed for Student of the Semester Lunch –  Friday, May 24

Teachers have nominated Students of the Semester who are recognized with a PTA-sponsored pizza and dessert lunch on May 24. We need 2-3 parent volunteers for each of three lunch periods.

We’d like to have volunteers as follows:

  • A Lunch:  10:45 – noon
  • B Lunch:  11:45 – 12:45
  • C Lunch:  12:30 – 1:30

Please invite your friends to participate with us!  If you can stay for two (or three) lunch periods, that would be great. We also need about 60 dozen cookies/baked goodies (cookies, brownies, cupcakes — homemade or store bought).   Desserts may be dropped off at the front office or brought to the cafeteria by 10:15 on May 24.

Please contact Tammy LaMantia at if you can help.  Many thanks for helping to make this event a success for these deserving students!  (Note:  Students are nominated by teachers and staff for small, yet significant, achievements or contributions that aren’t recognized through other awards or recognition programs)

The annual W-L Golf Tournament is coming up on Monday 6/24 at the Fairfax Country Club.
