APS Counseling

Who We Are

Professional school counselors are certified/licensed educators with a minimum of a master’s degree in school counseling making them uniquely qualified to address students’ academic, personal/social and career development needs.   The Department of Student Services through the Office of Student Services provides consultation to the comprehensive school counseling program at each school.  The Supervisor of Counseling supports professional school counselors (PreK-12) to enhance the academic, personal/social and career development of all students throughout Arlington Public Schools (APS).  We provide professional development and resources to enhance the knowledge and skills of professional school counselors.  We also collaborate with parents, families and community members to provide information and resources.  In partnership with other APS offices, higher education institutions, and community agencies, we seek to fulfill the mission of APS.  Please visit your school website for more information on the comprehensive school counseling program.
