Men of Respect Club Co-President Spoke at Panel Discussion Hosted by Project Peace of Arlington County

The week before spring break, W-L Senior and Men of Respect Club (M.O.R.) Co-President, Matthew Hopper, was invited to speak on a panel discussion for Project Peace of Arlington County. Hopper set an incredible example for the younger members of the over 200 seated crowd, including representative from the Arlington Council and State Reps. Twice during the discussion he brought the audience to an applause by his comments on teaching and influencing others about consent and being an “up-stander.” Matthew not only represented the M.O.R. with extreme poise, but constantly was promoting the school culture that has been created here at W-L. He discussed several lessons taught during his health class on the subject matter and described our student body as progressive and open to having in-depth conversations about sexual assault, harassment and rape.
